Here at Pragma HR, we are passionate about partnering with various organisations to develop impactful strategies that are culturally aligned and can be embedded sustainably within the existing structure.

The consultancy services provided by Pragma HR is about developing true business partnerships within HR and able to have a clear impact on service delivery.

We work with senior executives to provide pragmatic and sustainable solutions for better people management, whether it is a period of organisational change or where one needs to build management capacity to empower people and improve efficiency. We also provide day to day employee relations management advice.

About The founder

The consultancy services at Pragma HR are provided by myself, Sudeshna Chakraborty.

I am a result-driven HR Leader (Chartered CIPD), with a proven track record of embedding people strategies, working with senior leaders and supporting organisational growth. I have a breadth of experience across sectors within the UK but have primarily been focussed on the not-for-profit sector for both large and small charities in a highly unionised environment. I have delivered results reducing conflict by developing proactive management interventions and empowering managers with minimum litigation risks and reduced the cost of tribunals. I have also supported organisational development through huge cultural changes. I have been a passionate leader and coached my team of many HR professionals to support their continuous career development.

Day to day transactional HR

I also provide the very traditional process / technical HR support which can range from contracts, flexible working queries, HR system or even payroll related queries.

Policy, processes and guidance

I can help with creating, reviewing and/or implementing policies, processes or guidance for managers or for HR teams.

Building an appropriate HR team

I can help create an internal HR team structure that is fit for purpose. I can review / advice on creating internal progression pathways within the HR team. I can look at improvising efficiencies within the HR teams to be more customer centric or develop a Partnering approach within the service delivery.

Employee wellbeing initiative/ developing strategies

Practical guidance on creating and / or implementing an effective wellbeing strategy which is not based on just several wellbeing products or buying merely YOGA mats.

People or HR strategies

I develop and/or implement a HR or People strategy which is aligned with the organisation’s aims and can help achieve the desired outcome.
The strategy could have multiple interventions which may include things like – improving employee engagement and create a well-motivated workforce. How to foster a culture which attracts the right workforce and create a culture of compliance etc.

Employee relations

Wide range of support across all the different types of employee relations issues. i.e. doing investigations, disciplinary, grievance or capability issues including long term sickness related cases etc.

Sudeshna worked for me at St Mungo’s where she headed up a large HR Operations Team, proving a highly capable and inspiring leader.
